The Anti-Vehicle Crime Association of Minnesota (AVCAM) is a non-profit organization formed to prevent vehicle crime through community awareness and education. Our members come from law enforcement, insurance companies and other organizations and businesses interested in preventing vehicle crime. AVCAM has no paid staff and operates solely with member volunteers. The AVCAM message is clear and succinct:  Lock Your Car.  Take Your Keys.  Prevent A Theft.

On October 21, 2015 Detective Chad Duckson of the Coon Rapids Police Department was recognized by AVCAM for his investigation which lead to the arrest and sentencing of an individual responsible for the theft of over 125 vehicles.

James Jennings was arrested after stealing a police bait vehicle. That car and another vehicle were located on Jenning’s truck when he was arrested. Detective Duckson conducted a criminal investigation resulting in the identification of over 125 vehicles that Jennings had stolen and sold to an auto recycler. On June 12, 2015, after a guilty plea in Anoka County, Jennings was sentenced to 4 ½ years incarceration in the Minnesota Department of Corrections, and ordered to pay $75,000 in restitution.
